2 key nutrients

Prep warning

Commercial acai bowls, packs, and blends are often sweetened. Choose pure, unsweetened pulp, since added sugar is not recommended for babies.

How to serve by age

6-9 months

Prep:

Serve plain, unsweetened acai pulp blended smooth, on its own or stirred into oatmeal, yogurt, or a fruit puree. Choose pure pulp without added sugar or syrup.

Cut:

Smooth puree, spoon-fed or loaded onto a self-feeding spoon.

9-12 months

Prep:

Keep offering plain pulp blended into thicker mashes, oatmeal, or yogurt as a spoonable food. Still skip any sweetened acai bowls or blends.

Cut:

Thicker mash or spoonable blend.

12-18 months

Prep:

Mix plain acai pulp into yogurt, oatmeal, or smoothies as part of family meals. Keep it unsweetened and watch the portion since it is rich.

Cut:

Stirred into a carrier food or smoothie.
